Introduction of RCx Training and Examination

The Scheme provides three types of training to help the candidate become familiar with the RCx process, which includes planning, investigation, implementation, and ongoing commissioning. Three types of examinations are also designed to assess the comprehension of core concepts, common practices, and relevant knowledge of the candidate.

Target Audience
Technicians who wish to learn how to assist in the implementation of RCx	Engineers who wish to learn how to assess operation symptoms and identify energy saving opportunities (ESOs) for improvement through data analysis	Engineers who hold professional qualifications and wish to learn how to manage RCx process, and develop RCx practices for the corporates
Training Content
1. Understanding RCx 2. Major energy-consuming building services systems and equipment 3. Major factors that may affect the efficiency of these systems and equipment 4. Major roles of operational team during and after the RCx process	1. Introduction to RCx RCx Overview Operation Efficiency Overview 2. Energy Efficiency Improvement Opportunities Air Conditioning Lighting Installation Power Distribution Lift & Escalator 3. Measurement and Verification (M&V)	1. Introduction to RCx RCx mechanism and the involvement of various practitioners, along with their roles and responsibilities Steps and practices to carry out the RCx process at various stages 2. Investigation How to conduct site evaluation and preliminary investigation Basic concepts and approaches of data analytics 3. Implementation Identification of ESOs from the diagnosis of analytic results Basic concepts and approaches for the implementation and M&V of ESOs 4. M&V Relevant M&V standards for RCx and its on-site practices ESO saving estimation related to M&V and reporting of the RCx project 5. Ongoing Commissioning Setting up key performance indicators (KPIs), inducing training and reviewing the ongoing commissioning plan
Learning Outcome
Upon completion of the training, the candidate should have the ability and knowledge to: Understand and assist in the four stages of RCx Understand the factors that affect energy efficiency of building facilities Collect and record the information and data required for RCx Maintain the accuracy of the instruments and monitor relevant KPIs Follow instructions to operate the facilities efficiently based on the recommendations of the RCx process	Upon completion of the training, the candidate should have the ability and knowledge to: Fully understand the four stages of RCx Carry out the RCx process with the necessary support from members of the RCx teams or services providers Understand the performance characteristics of the building facilities and the common ESOs Manage the energy performance of building facilities through ongoing commissioning	Upon completion of the training, the candidate should have the ability and knowledge to: Fully understand the four stages of RCx Carry out the RCx process with the necessary support from members of the RCx teams or services providers Understand the performance characteristics of the building facilities and the common ESOs Manage the energy performance of building facilities through ongoing commissioning Understand in-depth the complicated correlations among factors affecting the energy efficiency of building facilities Use advanced data analytical skills to determine ESOs and carry out M&V

English RCx training will be available on a private class basis (company package).
Trainer
The trainers are a group of professionals from or invited by the HKGBC with expertise in RCx and building energy efficiency. The existing group of trainers is as follows:

Enrolment
The candidate should create an individual account for enrolment. The HKGBC collects personal data solely for purposes related to the Scheme. The candidate can view the privacy policy of the HKGBC and the personal information collection statement of the Scheme online. The HKGBC reserves the right to revise, amend and modify these terms and conditions at any time. Everyone is welcome to join the RCx training and examination. The regular training and examination will be organised in May and September every year. The candidate can view the introduction and enrol in the training and examination online. A private class (company package) can be arranged if 10-30 candidates enrol in the same training and examination. The enrolment of a company package is not limited to a single company. Subsidiaries or different companies can join together for the enrolment of a company package. The company should provide a venue and associated facilities, i.e., a computer with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, projector, microphone, etc. for the training and examination.
